How is it so close to the end of August already? My life, as I've mentioned before is CRAZY OUT OF BALANCE right now. For the last 10 or so weeks, I have been working and living during the week in the Dallas area, then going home where my family is for the weekend. We did adjust to a 4 day work week, which gives me one extra day with the family, but I can tell you....it is not enough. I can do this FOR NOW, but it has certainly gone on longer than I'd like. Because of that transition, I have not been as diligent with my weekly "me times"--quite honestly, I sometimes forget....sometimes I don't even realize I "skipped" the week until I"m reading other blogs in my Reader.
This week, I got nuthin'.....I have been doing the Yoga I talked about. I have missed two or three days so far and that means over 20 days of doing it. It is a small step, but I am absolutely loving it. I love how for a couple of minutes, I get "lost." My mind clears....I breathe....I stretch. It is so cool! I am thinking about adding another pose for September but continuing to do the one pose. For real, the tiniest baby step can built consistency. I'm adding to my on-going list that I had with all the ME links. For the first half of the year, I was pretty "faithful" to my me-times! But ya know, I got a good list going... What did you do this week? Go on over to join in the fun!
The first part of the year:
painting my toenails
getting my haircut
bought myself a treat (earrings)
bubble bath
bought some new smellums and tried them out
got a chiropractic adjustment
pampered my feet at home
took a yoga class
bought myself some new dishes
got a massage
took a day off, just to take a day off
journaling regularly, making it a ritual
bought a pineapple for the first time ever
made myself a coffee nook for enjoying my morning coffee
enjoyed washing my face with a hot washcloth
walked barefoot in soft, green grass
watched some television with my man
bought a nice outfit that FITS
one week, I didn't blog....I meant to take the weekend off and because of blogger being down, I literally did :)
took myself to the movies
And since I accepted my new job:
girl time with my daughter
simplify
celebrate
daily bits of sunshine
at-home facial

So glad you're enjoying your yoga. I have never studied yoga in any level of detail, but I do a few simple poses with the girls. They love it! :)
ReplyDelete[And a S'mores party -- even for yourself -- is not hard...maybe you can squeeze that in next week? ;)]
It is hard to fall back into a family routine when you are only home on the weekends. Congratulations on keeping up with yoga; I plan to get back to it on Monday :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh, you've just reminded me - I promised myself I'd paint my toenails; pretty pink I think for the last few weeks of summer sun. Glad you are enjoying yoga
