This week, to nurture myself....to take time for myself....I created a coffee corner! I love to go to Starbucks and sit in one of their corners, sip coffee, and just be or maybe read or maybe journaling! My husband and I make coffee most mornings with a French press which makes exquisite coffee, and I decided I needed a coffee corner in my house. I had some old, not so great chairs, I just needed a lamp and table. I found one for just over fifty bucks. Eventually, I would like to replace the chairs with something a bit nicer, but they work for now!
I love this corner (although I have one teenage daughter and one girl kitty who seem to think this is their corner)! I had a most lovely quiet time there this week! I had a couple evenings where I read a book and sipped a hot beverage (tea or hot cocoa....YES, I know it is spring and it is weird....but I like hot beverages)!
Head on over to Dolli-mama to see what others are doing to take some time out for themselves with the 52 weeks of me challenge!

ReplyDeleteI always thought I could take or leave a formal living room, but - since the girls were born - that's become one of my favorite spots in the house. It's kid-free, and there's nothing better than piling up in one of the armchairs that sits in front of the bay window and reading a book. No TV, no kids...just me (and maybe the cat, but that's OK). :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you took something you enjoyed outside of the house (Starbucks) and made it something you can enjoy inside your own house. :)
This is awesome!!! Love this idea!! I hope you can enjoy it often! have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI need a corner and I've got one picked out. I just need to get these babies out of diapers so I can kick the change table to the curb and make my space.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely!
I absolutely love this idea. I worked at Starbucks for years, and sometimes I miss spending my 15 minute breaks sipping coffee in my favorite chair. I am brainstorming to how I could recreate this in my home. I may have to wait until we buy a new house, but it's still a great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this idea! I bet it makes the coffee taste that much better...
ReplyDeleteI love your little corner. Enjoy it. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful idea! It looks wonderful and I would love to have my own coffee corner in my house.
