Wow! It is amazing how much can happen in one year's time. Back in
January, I set out to memorize two Scriptures a month for the year. I was inspired by
Beth Moore and her blog. She apparently has done this for several years and challenged her "siestas" (her word for her blog readers) to do it as well. I am not sure how many exactly have stuck with it all year long...I think at least close to 1000. She even came up with an
idea on celebrating for those who have become part of this Scripture Memory Team. Back in January or so when she first came up with the idea, I thought it'd be great. (I happen to LOVE Beth Moore, and would love to see her in person!!) Since Houston is in my state (still a few hours away, though)...I figured it'd still be do-able. Especially since there is no registration fee....the expenses would be the travel, lodging, and meals. However, in April, my husband lost his job and we've been just "making it" since then. (He's working hard at two part-time jobs....I have a couple extra jobs here and there!) I just don't know how "do-able" it is now. But....at any rate, I am praying for God to show me if it is wise to go....AND I am continuing with my Scripture memory. An extra bonus if God makes a way for me to go to the celebration....I might get to meet a bloggy
friend!
So, here's the next verse (only 2 more to go....I should have a total of 24 when I am done but somehow I accidentally slipped an extra in there somewhere and will have 25 by the year end):
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve my life;
you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes,
with your right hand you save me.
The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me;
your love, O LORD, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.
Psalm 138:7-8 (New International Version)
Congratulations...it is always great to store more scriptures in our hearts...
