WFMW-Sunburn Relief

My 12 year old son came up with this Works-For-Me Wednesday tip. He has his own blog, but I supposed this kind of thing is more up his mom's alley than his....his blog is quite unique!

My family went to a waterpark this past Saturday, and although we doused ourselves with sunscreen, by the time we were leaving my kids were convinced they had 2nd degree burns (although they only had mild 1st degree, but OH THE DRAMA). As we were leaving my son took a drink at a water fountain and the water was quite cold. He believed it to help the pain, so he had his little sister try and she agreed. I looked it up online, to see if this had some research behind it or anything but all I could find was the suggestion to drink lots of water because the sun dehydrates you. So....enter this WFMW tip: drinking ice cold water will relieve some of the pain of your sunburn! Pleeeeeease let me know if you try this and it works. I so want to know!

--added to post later--
Turns out he did put a little something on his blog....give it a gander yourself. I love that kid!

  1. **smiles** That is so cute!

    Drinking water is always good.
    Cucumber on red skin helps.
