Works For Me Wednesday--drinking water


Being still fairly new at blogging, I found yet another meme I want to participate in...the Works for Me Wednesday. Head on over to this Shannon's blog to read more tips from other bloggers. You will "get stuck" there reading all the great tips and find yourself making notes of things that are soooooo cool! I had seen this meme a time or two but last week, I really got stuck there reading all the tips and remembering little things I've tried or done that have worked. And I really decided I wanted to be a part of this...as well as remember to check in over there are Wednesdays with a cup of tea and read all the wonderful and cool tips (there are TONS of them)!

My very first tip to share is how I drink a lot of water. When I first started my journey of weight loss with Weight Watchers, the only "extra" thing I did was drink lots of water. They said you need 48 ounces and an additional 8 oz for each 25 pounds you want to lose. I wanted to lose 50 pounds, so I needed to drink 64 ounces. I had an empty juice container that held 64 ounces. I filled it up at night, put it in the fridge and the next day I had cold water. The task was to finish the container before bed. I had a cute little cup that I just refilled (I even tote it to work and keep it in the fridge there) throughout the day and sipped. This was how I kept up with the amount. And I want you to know that following the WW points and drinking all that water I did lose 50 pounds!!! (Granted, that was a few years ago and I need to lose a little bit again, but I'm drinking my water!!) Oh, and I did find a huge mug at Wal-mart that holds 64 ounces which is also fun to use. And when I just can't stand the flavor of water, I put a squeeze of lemon in, and it helps out a lot!!!

  2. I used to drink nothing but water and sometimes milk. I didn't keep anything else in my house. No juice, no pop, no energy drinks, nothing. But slowly the juice and pop have creeped in and I need to get back on track. Thanks for the great tip.

  3. I'm on WW too and drinking enough water is definitely something I've been needing to work on lately! I don't really drink anything other than water and I still have a hard time getting it all in. I'll have to give this a try!

  4. You wouldn't think it was too difficult to drink water, would ya? But... it is very difficult. (Especially when that evil diet pepsi is lurking in the same fridge as the water!!)

  5. Great time and reminder! I need to drink water and stop with the pop. My dentist has gotten after me for all the pop I drink. Thanks for the clue on how much to drink to lose weight. Lots of water helps with dry skin too.
    Here is Oregon they are going to put a bottle deposit on bottle water to keep the bottles out of land fills.
